I am a graphic designer with four years agency experience. I studied at AAA school of advertising where I specialised in graphic design and focused a lot on digital work. During my 2nd year I won a Bronze Loerie and in my 3rd year I won the Silver award for a Wine Label Competition for MCC (Multi-Color Corporation). At the end of 3rd year I interned at M&C Saatchi Abel and learnt how work in an agency environment.
WORK EXPERIENCE
After I graduated I got a job at a small boutique design agency, Bright Brown, where I worked on one of South Africa's well known retail brands, Cash Crusaders. I then moved to FoxP2 Design agency, which was later rebranded as Mutant Design, to do more creative and conceptual work. I worked under Andrew Whitehouse who helped me hone in on design skills and how to take extra care with attention to detail. I gained experience working on big brands such as First For Women, Wimpy and House and Leisure to name a few. I also worked on branding jobs, packaging projects and did a lot of motion graphics work.
I then went on to work at Arc Worldwide, which is part of the Publicis Groupe, where I developed my digital skills even further. I was part of the Saatchi & Saatchi and Arc social media team where I got to work on a variety of brands such as OREO, Stimorol, Chappies, Kellogg’s, Engen and Capitec. Apart from being on the social media team I worked on various CRM campaigns, designed emails, websites as well as art directed a video shoot. Other brands I worked here include Direct Axis, City of Cape Town, Old Mutual, Distell (Three Ships Whisky), Burger King, Sanlam, Auto & General and First for Women.
I am now working as a freelance graphic designer where I work with agencies, established brands and new startups where I can apply my solutions based thinking and creative skills.
